Pag-ibig Housing Loan: Pay via Metrobank Direct
Due to middle class workers striving to be efficient at work there is a need for easy access to online payment no matter what type of bill. This as well let you manage and track your finances easily.
I have been using Metrobank to pay my pag-ibig dues since the time they announce that their offices won’t accept any payments anymore. Bayad Center won’t work for me as the line may take too long and theres no accessible bayad center in my area – office and home.
Metrobank is one of the oldest and trusted banks in the Philippines. If Im not mistaken, they are partly owned by the Government (correct me if im wrong). I initially open an account to distribute my money for savings purposes. Never thought paying my monthly amortization with pagibig will also be met thru that action.
Here’s how to pay Pag-Ibig dues via Metrobank:
First, login to your account. This can only be achieve by logging in on the website. This option is nowhere the mobile app though, and you get different logins too. Weird but thats how they do it.
Then head to Pay Bills -> Select Government -> Enter your details. You may refer to your bill or the e-bill sent to your email. See here if you would like to change your physical bill to e-bill and convert to paperless. I encourage you to do this to save our trees and lessen trash.
Once done, a confirmation screen prompts. Keep your phone close as they sent a code to your mobile to verify the transaction. Enter them and viola. Your bill is paid.
I everytime save a screenshot of the transaction as a receipt, maybe its just really me since you will rightaway receive an email for the transaction made – you cant really be so sure right?
It takes 2-4 banking days for Pag-ibig to confirm that they receive the payment. I usually get notified by a text. It was extremely helpful, tipid and easy for me as compared to bayad center where you pay 8php for processing fee then factor in the time and fare spent. This is one of the wisest decision really.
If by chance you don’t have your bill (sometimes Pag-ibig fails to send them due to system updates) see how to pay via Gcash here.
For the New Metrobank Online System – Yes, I still pay using their new platform. You may read my article here.

Hi Judilee,
Is it a must to use “Payment Reference No” to “Subscriber/ Account No.” field in the Metrobank field? Have you tried using just the Pag-ibig HL Account No.?
judilee
Hi Henry, if you only have HL number I wouldn’t advise it (even though I haven’t tried it yet). You can opt to pay via Gcash instead, see my article here: https://millennialwomeninspirations.com/pay-pag-ibig-housing-loan-thru-gcash/ they have transaction fee of 5php but its wise to pay a small fee than risking the odds.
Andrew
Hi Judilee,
Thank you for sharing this very useful info, how about paying pag-ibig contributions? like MP2, would it be possible to do it through metrobank direct?
judilee
Hi Andrew, I haven’t tried paying MP2 contribution via Metrobank – I pay mine through Gcash. I’ll try to check if this is possible and will get back to you once I know more.
Emily
Hi! I would also love to know if we can use Metrobank to pay MP2? Thank you!
judilee
Hi Emily and Andrew,
Unfortunately, base on the guidelines, Metrobank only accepts Housing Loan payments.
Banks that accept MP2 payments are UCPB and AUB only.
Maine
Hi do you still use this po when paying thru the new online metrobank? Thanks
judilee
Hi Maine, Yes I’m paying my Pag-Ibig Housing Loan thru the new Metrobank Online. The user interface is quite an improvement. Visit my article: https://millennialwomeninspirations.com/pay-pag-ibig-hl-via-new-metrobank-online/
